DTRC Chairman Bernard J. Daney Given Lifetime Achievement Award
On April 23, 2009, Bernard J. Daney, Delaware Thoroughbred Racing Commission (DTRC) Chairman, was given a lifetime achievement award by the Association of Racing Commissioners International (ACRI) at their Lexington, Kentucky meeting. The award, a crystal vase was etched with the following: Presented to Bernard J. Daney of Delaware in Recognition of His Accomplishments and Unwavering Dedication to Integrity in Racing and Wagering.

W. Duncan Patterson, Secretary-Commissioner DTRC, accepted the award on Daney’s behalf. Commissioner Patterson said, “I have known Bernie a long time and he is the consummate gentlemen and very deserving of this lifetime achievement award. It has been a great pleasure serving on the Commission with him over the years.”

When told that his fellow commissioners had bestowed this great honor upon him, Chairman Daney said, ““I owe all of my success to my fellow Commissioners, Staff, and my family who have supported my efforts over the years. It is a great pleasure for me to be working with all of them, so they should also share in this award as well.”
