Official Veterinarian– Washington Horse Racing Commission

Location: Auburn, Washington

The Washington Horse Racing Commission (WHRC) is seeking an experienced equine veterinarian for an official veterinarian position. An official veterinarian is responsible to assist the Equine Medical Director in the WHRC statewide equine health and testing program to ensure that horses participating in pari-mutuel horseracing are in a healthy condition and comply with regulations.

This position is for the Emerald Downs racing season, which normally runs from April to late September. The position requires day, evening and weekend work. The hours of work vary during the season, depending of the number of race days per week. The position may require travel to other racetracks in Washington. The position is an exempt (at-will) position, reporting directly to the Equine Medical Director of the WHRC.
